Welcome
Thanks for visiting the site for Bluegrass Downs Homeowner's
Association. We are located in the southwest portion of
Sumner County just north of Nashville, Tennessee.
A Little History:
Bluegrass Downs is part of a peninsula on Old Hickory Lake,
locally called the Bluegrass Area. There is a story behind
the name! In the early years many neighbors were connect to
the music world in one way or another. The neighbors
included Lester Flatt, Tammy Wynette, Johnny Cash, Roy
Orbison, Marty Stuart, Connie Smith, Conway Twitty/Twitty
City (now owned by Trinity City) among others in the
publishing and managing professions of Nashville - hence the
name Bluegrass.
Why We Love the Neighborhood:
Bluegrass Downs made its debut in the 1995 Parade of Homes
and consists of 53 home sites. Most homes were custom built
and reflect architectural individuality. Wide curved
streets, sidewalks, underground utilities, and boat ramp
access to Old Hickory Lake are some of the community
amenities, Easy access to shopping, good schools both public
and private, parks, sports parks, hospitals, international
and private airports, and only 14 miles from downtown
Nashville make this a great place to live! Finally, but not
least, we have great neighbors!
Old Hickory Lake:
Old Hickory Lake is part of the Cumberland River and is a
water highway. There are locks at the Dam in Hendersonville.
The Cumberland River and Tennessee River meet and eventually
flow to the Mississippi. Then you have a choice to make a
right to go to Canada or left to New Orleans! There are
several marinas in Hendersonville and miles of shoreline and
parks. |
